Doll Irma

Handcrafted wooden doll by Judith Sotriffer in collaboration with Maison Coromandel (One-of-a-kind piece).

“She didn’t know how to proceed; if the door is too narrow, the past won’t fit through. The accumulated past, round, enormous, and frayed, obsessively pushed her. The obsession compelled her to force the issue beyond all dimensions. Until an enlightenment brought the solution. She unrolled that enormous round and made it into her scarf, wrapped herself in it, sniffed it, then embroidered her signature, writing Irma with a steady hand. Afterward, she passed effortlessly through the keyhole.”
